ALLEN EIRY CENTER closed Monday, March 16, 2020 - Friday, March 27, 2020.
Allen Eiry Center's Executive Board working with the Seneca County Health Department and following the recommendations from Governor DeWine regarding the corona virus outbreak (COVID-19) has decided to close Allen Eiry Center beginning Monday, March 16. This will continue until at least Friday, March 27, 2020 at which time we will re-evaluate the situation.
The people who are at higher risk of getting sick from this illness are:

Gov. DeWine stated March 12, 2020 , "After consulting experts, we know this is a difficult decision and prevention is not an easy subject, because we are conditioned to only REACT to illnesses and now we are be PRO-ACTIVE."

Cost: $4.00 per class
String design is a beautiful form of art. Whether you are just beginning or more advanced makes no difference. no experience is necessary. Participants will be provided multiple selections to choose from for their thread and paper color. All participants will be able to take home their completed project. We will be creating greeting cards in March.
Class is limited to 10 participants. Register early. Linda has taught this class at AEC for the past 3 months and has a very good following. This is your opportunity to take a class in the evening especially if you are still working or are too busy during the day.

Spaces are 8ft x 8ft and are $25.00, limit two booths per crafter. We will provide electricity for $3.00, but this is limited so it will be on a first come first serve basis. You may bring your own tables or you are may rent 6 foot tables for $8.00/each. Two chairs will be provided per space. A brown bag lunch will be available for $7.00. this will include a chicken croissant, bag of chips, cookie and a bottle of water. RSVP for the lunch. We will have complimentary coffee and donuts for the crafters and volunteers Saturday morning until 9 a.m.

We are happy to say the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky is going to give a us a guided tour of their home. The Veteran's Home has sent us a wish list; if you would like to donate please drop items off at AEC by Wednesday, April 22, 2020. Step back in time with historian Mike Gilbert to learn about the Kennedy Family including JFK's parents, all nine children, and the background of Rose Kennedy and her parents.
This class will talk about the stories of Ohio's 8 first ladies, the truly remarkable women they were including their struggles and fascinating history of their lives.
As a result of the swamp, Northwest Ohio was the last section to be settled in Ohio. Experience the hardships faced by the early settlers and their attempts to control the environment.

We are offering the opportunity to learn the art of stained glass. Many beautiful creations can be made from stained glass and now is your chance to learn! Beginning Tuesday, April 7 - Wednesday, April 22; each Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM you can learn step-by-step how to make a beautiful piece. All tools and materials needed to complete the project will be provided by the Center. Before ending the last evening of instruction you will be starting your second project in stained glass.

Thursday, March 26, 2020 the Tiffin Public Schools along with their National Honor Society have invited those of us 50 years and older who live in the Tiffin School District to their annual brunch and musical. Brunch begins at 9:30AM.
We will have the AEC bus at the bottom of Charlotte Street to shuttle you to the school. After the play we will take you back to your cars. The shuttle will begin at 8:30AM.
FREE tickets can be picked up the Allen Eiry Center .
